20" or 40" Open Top Sea Container

The Open Top container is used for transporting cargo that, due to its dimensions or other characteristics, can only be loaded vertically (lowered into the container from above).

These containers are also used for oversized cargo, where the height exceeds that of standard containers. An Open Top container usually has a removable roof made of tarpaulin or a similar material. Less commonly, a Hard Top variant is found, which has a removable solid roof.

A characteristic feature of both Open Top and Hard Top containers is the removable top beam above the container’s front doors, which facilitates loading and unloading operations.

OOG (Out Of Gauge) – cargo dimensions exceed the standard container dimensions (extend beyond the container’s edges).
